Faced with gloomy news, fashion is responding. Pieces from other times make remarkable appearances in our wardrobe, like the corset and the white tank top with Y2K influences, while the accessories rely on audacity, including the tie and the balaclava. At a time when uncertainty reigns, the focus is on the primary vocation of the fashion industry: to make people dream. Gleaming leather, transparency and prints of all kinds thus cheer up the hearts of fashionistas and promise a high season in style. Zoom on the fall-winter 2022-2023 trends seen on the catwalks, which we copy without any guilt.

In colored faux fur like at Balmain, bathrobe style at Acne Studios or quilted like seen at Versace… this winter, the coat is revealed in an XXL way or nothing.

This winter, the body will reveal itself without any complex. Transparency is required, in a totally assumed way or, on the contrary, by discreet but sensual touches. At Alaïa, the mesh dress is worn next to the skin, while at Alberta Ferretti, thoughtful yokes sublimate the neckline in an ultra-feminine way. At Ester Manas, we guess a bra under a long dress with gathers and graphic cutouts.

The ball

The sportswear wave continues to sweep over fashion, this time through the polo shirt. For a modern silhouette, we choose it oversized, as seen on Lous & The Yakuza, which closed the Louis Vuitton fall-winter 2022 show with an ultra cool striped model. Another option: bet on its cropped version, as seen at Miu Miu.

The micro-skirt

Seen for the first time at the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2022 show, the micro-skirt trend trend persists and signs. In jeans at Diesel, immaculate at Balmain or schoolgirl style at the Italian label, she reveals her legs in an ultra sexy way. To dare to take the plunge and not catch pneumonia, wear it with a pair of tights and high boots, which will counterbalance the silhouette.

The leather

Impossible to get tired of shiny leather, offered in an ultra-feminine version at Bottega Veneta with a dress with a plunging neckline. Biker-style at Dior with a biker jacket or Matrix-inspired at Gabriela Hearst via a long black trench coat that seems to be taken from Neo’s wardrobe. Leather is everywhere and we are happy about it.

The white tank top

Disappeared from our dressing room for quite a while, the white tank top is making a remarkable comeback. Replacing the white t-shirt, it stands out as the flagship piece of a cool and minimalist silhouette. Wear it casually, with jeans, like at Bottega Veneta, with leather pants like at Chloé, or for the big night under a see-through dress, like the Prada show. As cooler days approach, slip it on under a loose open shirt for an ever more casual and cool look.

The denim skirt

If we could rank it as a must-have, the denim skirt has however made a real comeback on the fall-winter 2022-2023 catwalks. We could see the mini version at Diesel, an ultra sexy model that made the buzz on social networks. At Bottega Veneta, it is imagined short and deconstructed and associated with an immaculate trench. At Coperni, it is deconstructed for an infinitely modern look. Marc Jacobs and Marni adopt it for their long cut. A version that we like to wear with suede heeled boots and cashmere when winter arrives.

The faux fur coat

To effectively protect yourself from the cold without compromising your style, the faux fur coat is the fashion ally par excellence. We wear it with a monochrome look like at Michael Kors or with rhinestone heeled sandals like at Saint Laurent. Otherwise, the raw denim, warm knitwear and  sneakers combo also works.

The catsuit

Attention, this one is reserved for the most daring fashionistas. To highlight its forms in an ultra-sexy way, we bet on the catsuit , a tight-fitting full suit to wear to go let off steam on the dancefloor on a Saturday evening. We choose it with a transparent yoke for going out, as seen at Nensi Dojaka or futuristically inspired as at Dior.

The corset

This is one of the most amazing trends on this list. Once considered an instrument of torture in women’s fashion, the corset has returned en masse to the catwalks of the fall-winter 2022-2023 shows. No question of putting on a real corset, we put on pieces that give the perfect illusion.

Rihanna has already adopted them, a sign that they are here to stay. While over-the-knee boots are regularly highlighted by designers, the fall-winter 2022-2023 fashion show season has this time unveiled its set of XXL over-the-knee boots, rising well above the knees and flaring out mid-thigh. True stars of the Isabel Marant fashion show, they have also been seen at Balenciaga, Coperni and Alaïa. We wear them with jeans, a short dress or, for the most daring, the famous micro-skirt.

Hood

Already considered the accessory for winter 2021, the balaclava is back in 2022. In wool, cashmere, crochet, colourful, patterned… this half-hood, half-beanie accessory is enough to intimidate even the most extravagant fashionistas. However, the designers have proven that, worn well, the balaclava completes extreme cold looks with disconcerting ease. Proenza Schouler imagines it 2-in-1, merging it with a black sweater, Max Mara declines it in the same tones as a line of beige coats and Altuzarra takes us back to childhood with a knit model. To adopt it, we play the card of sobriety by associating it with timeless pieces.

The cap

From Botter to Burberry via Courrèges and Gucci, the cap breathes the dose of cool that our outfits lacked. A headgear accessible to all, which can be worn with a casual or sporty outfit, or precisely with a very feminine look to counterbalance its silhouette.

High woolen socks

This winter, we’re playing it Serena van der Woodsen by wearing high wool socks. In ballet flats at Miu Miu, rain boots at Chanel, sneakers at Vivienne Westwood, flat ankle boots at Jil Sander or even over tights at Coperni… the time has come to wear your socks.

The tie

If fashion likes to play on gender issues, this season it has done well by inviting the tie, traditionally reserved for men, into the women’s wardrobe. No more injunctions, we’re pimping up our fall looks with a tie. At Louis Vuitton, it is worn with an aviator jacket and wide trousers while at Gucci, it is revealed in leather, with a vinyl skirt, a white shirt , a blazer with wide shoulders and a beret. The perfect accessory to adopt the schoolgirl trend, in short.
